More than just plugging in a reader
A basic code reader is fine for a headline fault, but plenty of problems don't show as a stored code. We use professional diagnostic equipment that reads live data from the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, body control and comfort systems — so we can see how the vehicle is behaving in real time and where the numbers don't add up.
For intermittent faults we road-test the vehicle with the tool connected and log the data. Faults that only appear under load, at temperature or in a particular gear show up in the trace, and that's usually where the real cause is.
Diagnostics after a crash repair
Collision damage often triggers fault codes across systems that aren't obviously related to the impact — airbags, ADAS cameras, ride-height sensors, steering angle sensors, battery management. Post-repair diagnostic work is a standard part of every crash repair we carry out, and we can do the same for vehicles repaired elsewhere if the warning lights haven't been cleared properly.
